Robert N. Nye III, Esq. - Partner

Born in Charlotte, North Carolina, Attorney Rob Nye graduated from The Citadel with a B.A. in History (Honors).  While at The Citadel, he received an academic Army R.O.T.C Scholarship and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant upon graduation.  He went on to attend Widener University School of Law in Wilmington, Delaware, earning is J.D.

 

While in law school, Rob law clerked at large firms in Philadelphia and Wilmington.  At these firms, Rob honed his research and writing skills pertaining to complex civil litigation.

 

Upon graduation from law school, Rob entered active duty as an Infantry officer in the Army.  After his infantry training, Rob was selected for the Army J.A.G. Corps.

As an Army Judge Advocate, Rob was first assigned as an Operational Law Attorney.  In this capacity, he deployed to Operation Iraqi Freedom III and was a legal advisor to the senior leadership (Division Staff) for the 3d Infantry Division.  For meritorious service during combat operations, he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal.  Upon his return from Iraq, Rob was selected to serve with the U.S. Army Trial Defense Service.  In this capacity, he represented soldiers accused of serious crimes at Court Martial and other various military proceedings.

 

His military awards include: Parachutist Badge, Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal (w/ 2 Oak Leaf Clusters), Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terror Medal, and Army Reserve Achievement Medal.  He continues to serve in the U.S. Army Reserves.

 

Rob’s areas of practice include Federal and State Criminal Defense, Wrongful Death Litigation, Excessive Use of Force by Law Enforcement, Military Law, and Veteran’s Benefits.  He is admitted to practice in: Georgia, Pennsylvania, Federal District Court, 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims, and all military courts.  He is the past president of the Savannah Area Citadel Alumni Club, adjunct professor for the Armstrong Paralegal Program, and member of the Savannah Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.  In his spare time Rob enjoys physical training, rugby, and fishing.
